Hayward Electric structures our pay scale based on a tiered classification system of individual training, safety, and merit rather than a collective bargaining agreement, so we can provide a very competitive wage and benefits package, as well as competitive bids to our customers.

For those applying to the position of Electrician: California now requires Electricians to either be Certified or if you are not certified then to be registered as an Electrical Trainee with California Division of Apprenticeship Standards. All applicants for Electrician must provide their state number (be it Certification number of Trainee number) before their application will be considered for employment.

All employees are subject to background checks, pre-employment and random drug testing (DISA DCC and/or DOT RSPA), and must complete an in-house safety orientation training and may be have to complete a safety program through BATT (Bay Area Training Trust) to work on some projects. In addition, we encourage all of our employees to keep their BATT cards and First Aid/CPR cards current by offering a pay incentive.
